How does Obama intend to convince American voters that he wants to unify? Isn't this what America needs?
How would a McCain/Palin win help us move in that direction? Obama can't help the color of his skin and people are going to talk about it and there are people who are going to vote for him because of it just as there are people who are not going to vote for him because of it - that has nothing to do with him and there is nothing that he can do about it. The fact of the matter is, I think he has a better chance of that simply because he already has a far more diverse following than the McCain/Palin ticket. He can't win with just the black vote because, contrary to popular belief, our numbers are almost negligable at 12%. Watching the DNC, I saw every race, many different ethnicities, many different age groups and socio-economic backgrounds. Watching the RNC, I saw six black people (two were a couple of ladies Cindy brought in directly from Africa especially for the event and can't vote anyway, one was that black country music singer and one was Alan Keyes), three Latino's (I suspect they were from the same family and were asked to sit in different areas of the arena) and one Asian chick who, frankly, looked confused.
