Why is the community so hypocritical when it comes to tolerance?

So your saying that certain religious groups are allowed to insult us and prevent us from attempting to get equal rights, and we shouldn't do anything about it because that'd make us intolerant? I don't hear of gay people beating the **** out of religious people for being religious, yet you hear of religious people beating/killing/torturing gay people just for being gay, and you expect us to just sit back and say "Oh well, i'll ignore the incident cause i don't feel like insulting anyone."? Many religious people can sit back and call us fags, yet you want us to ignore that to i suppose cause if we said anything insulting back we'd be BASHING their opinion and that'd be AWFULLY fuking intolerant of us? WOW, thanks for showing me the light, i really know how the world should work now
