Why can a man not be perfect and worthy of heaven and not need the blood?

well if you believe in Jesus then Jesus blood will cover your sins, and God will show you what is not good in you. As His love will pour into your heart as He know all the desires of your heart, and therefore will also cleanse your heart of things that are abominable or detestable to Him.
