Adding lyrics in WMP?

I know how to add the lyrics, the problem is that when the song is on mp3 format, the lyrics dont appear, and when i go back to the place where you add them, they're not there anymore. But whenever i do a regular song (WMA format) they do stay. So my question is how do you add lyrics to songs in MP3 format?
