Would my hair take short layers well?

I have blond, short of curly hair. When I straighten it it's a little bit bellow my shoulders. I have long layers right now but I REALLY want short layers. I don't mind straightening daily. But I'm wondering what will happen if I keep it curly. And also would my hair take short layers well? Thank you! Hanna<33
