Subject of vampyre stories and asking why stephanie meyer made vampyres sparkle?

ignore my spelling of the word vampyres. its the old english spelling so, well there. does anybody else think that by making vampyres sparkle, stephanie meyer may have just cleverly ruined the idea of vampyres, oh yeah not to mention the entire 'vegetarian thing' but i mean, vampyres burn, it's not like i hate twilight, i don't i use to love it, but every time i look at the book i never want to touch it again, i'll go watch it at the movies, but i just can't look at the book without wanting vampyres to burn in the sunlight. and the entire dark spooky castle think is cool! why do any of you like/dislike twilight, and if a book was written with vampyres burning again, do you think you could ever read it the same way?
