Appears as if our economy is one huge Ponzi scheme.?

We are not even encouraged to save for a rainy day. In fact, savings is discouraged. The few pennies earned in a bank savings account is taxable so if any one places money in a savings account, the goverment takes a cut and inflation takes the rest of any puny earnings.
